This small square side table has a seamless appearance thanks to fluid transitions between the top, bottom and vertical elements. Its name refers to construction, in which a pier sits on a square base while a column sits on a round base. The slender top tapers toward the edges to give a floating effect while the thick base anchors it visually to the ground.
