Yubo is a Japanese word that means promising or full of hope. This chair is a hopeful expression of outdoor living. A sturdy steel rod frame supports curved oak wood slats that have been treated with yakisugi, a Japanese wood finish that chars the exterior of the wood surface with fire to make it impervious to the elements. The wood takes on a rich brownish black appearance that is smooth and soft to the touch. The chairs stack densely together for storage.
